PRAXIS co-organizes second Avellana Memorial Lecture

Carrying the theme Engaging the Dark Social, the second Jose “Totoy” V. Avellana Annual Memorial Lecture gathered over 200 communication, media, and marketing students and professionals from all over the Greater Manila Area at the Ricardo and Dr Rosita Leong Hall Auditorium, October 26.

Four esteemed academics and practitioners zeroed in on the challenges and impacts of dark social on their respective industries. They were Dr Jason Vincent Cabañes, an Associate Professor in Communication and Research Fellow at the De La Salle Manila University, Arlene Burgos, Head of Audience Development of ABS-CBN News Digital, Dave Drilon, Chief Digital Officer of Publicis JimenezBasic and resource person during the First Avellana Masterclass; and Dennis Temporal, a lecturer of business ethics at the Ateneo De Manila University.

The Avellana Lecture 2019 is another successful follow-through from the Avellana Masterclass 2019 and Avellana Lecture 2018. This series is designed to showcase Filipino communication skills, a value that was upheld by the late Jose Avellana in the way he ran his own advertising agency.
