Sam is the Managing Partner of PRAXIS Associates PH. She has extensive experience handling research and special development-oriented programs and projects for the private, government, and academic sectors. On top of managing the operations of PRAXIS, Sam also engages in volunteer work for the youth in her home province, Laguna. She has served as president of Gawad Laguna Inc., a youth-serving organization that develops young minds into responsible and able leaders.
A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Development Communication, major in Educational Communication (cum laude) at the University of the Philippines Los Baños and a student of Master of Community Development at the University of the Philippines Diliman, Sam served as research and communications officer for the Konrad Adenauer Asian Center for Journalism at the Ateneo de Manila University, research analyst for a Fortune 500 financial research company, technical writer for the Office of the Commissioner Representing Mindanao, National Youth Commission for Mindanao Youth Agenda (2nd edition), coordinator for Ateneo de Manila Communication Department’s Patok: Comparative and Critical Perspectives on Pinoy Pop Culture, and and communications consultant for the Typhoon Haiyan Response (THR) Project of World Vision Development Foundation.
She has also received awards and citations over the past years. Among these recognitions are: 2011 Pinakanamumukod-Tanging Kabataan ng Laguna-Kabataang Propesyunal [Most Outstanding Youth of Laguna-Young Professional Category]; Philippine Youth Ambassador of Goodwill to the 38th Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP); 2010 UPLB Alumni Association Leadership Award; and 2010 University President’s Medal for Academic Excellence. Her digital artwork for Ayala Museum‘s The Filipino Spirit is Waterproof campaign was exhibited at the Earth Manual Project in the City of Kobe, Japan in October 2013 and at the Ayala Museum from November to December 2014. Sam will also serve as the Discussion Facilitator of the Information and Media Group during the 39th Ship for World Youth Program which will be held from 19 January to 01 March 2019.
On weekends (if she decided to stay home and not go backpacking), Sam binges on local and foreign TV series and keeps tabs with the latest in the development arena and creatives industry.
